Cloud of His Presence - Where is He leading You?

Whether the cloud stayed over the tabernacle for two days or a month or a year, the Israelites would remain in camp and not set out; but when it lifted, they would set out. At the LORD's command they encamped, and at the LORD's command they set out. They obeyed the LORD's order, in accordance with his command through Moses. Numbers 9:22-23

I was out jogging the other morning and came around the corner to see another gal out jogging. She was on the opposite side of the road and this sense of wanting to match her pace and even go beyond her pace came over me . . . that is unusual. I'm usually worshipping Jesus, or enjoying be out in the still quiet time of the morning. Clear as could be, the Holy Spirit began to speak to me: Keep your eyes on Me, don't worry about her and where her path takes you. Yes you seem to be on the same road for awhile, but her pace is not to be your pace. You are not called to run her race as she is not called to run yours. And at that moment I realized it had nothing to do with her . . . she was just a representation of all the people in my life that I look at and start to compare myself to. If I am not careful and get my eyes off the goal, My Savior and my King, then I might begin to speed up and try to run someone else's race. I might go down the wrong path . . . or go at the wrong time . . . and I won't get to the place He has for me. Proverbs 20:27 A man's steps are ordered by the Lord.

Hebrews 12:1-2 THEREFORE THEN, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us,let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us, looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
